Who said sushi can only be prepared the traditional Japanese way?
Well, if you feel more adventurous and free minded you can try some alternative fillings for sushi.
Just keep the Japanese rice and the nori sheets and the soy sauce and wasabi.
Ginger is optional.
hot smoked peppered mackerel
fresh parsley leaves
strips sweet fresh red pepper
stripped green chilli pepper
green onion and black pepper Filadelfia cheese
How to prepare the sushi rice:
500 gr sushi rice
same amount of water + a little bit more
1/2 cup of rice winegar with 1 tbps sugar disoolved
Wash the rice very well until the water is clear
soak in cold water for about 30 minutes
Boil for 2 minutes uner a lid, then reduce the heat and leave to simmer for more 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat and don't open the lid for more 10 minutes.
Transfer to a large flat porcelain or wooden dish and add gradually the rice vibegar, stirring the rice carefully do it doesn't squash.
For better results do this operation near an open window so the rice lowers temperature gradually.
Then they are ready to roll over the nori sheets.
