Le Bûche de Noël (or Yule Log) is a traditional French Christmas dessert.
The cake is prepared and garnished to look like a log ready for the fire. The traditional bûche is made from a sponge cake, baked in a jelly roll pan, and filled with chocolate butter cream.
However, many variations on the traditional recipe exist, including chocolate cakes and espresso-flavoured filling.
